Camp

Camp was amazing we did heaps of stuff my three favourite things to do there were archery, rifle shooting and bivey building I loved it and I wish I could do it again.

Reflective post

Today on the 29th/11th/11th we are working on dead lines, so when we get older we can finish our work in time and not get in trouble also if we work in an important business we don't get fired because we don't finish our work and that is why we are working on dead lines.

What i'm learning

On week four 2011 I am learning to reflect on my learning by writing a post about it. It is good to do this so people know what I am learning and they think good of myross bush school. It also helps with my punctuation and spelling.

What i've learnt

In room 8 2011 myross bush I improved my writing skills majorly because I practiced until I got better. The porpose of this is so people can understand my writing.

Why it's good to have imaginary friend

Imaginary friends are good to have so you are never alone and you always have someone to talk to.

Imaginary friends are awesome. You can talk to them whenever you want and there's always someone with you.

Secondly you're never bored and there is always something to do. You can play a game,run around or just talk to each other and they go away when you want them to so they're not annoying.

If you want an imaginary friend just think of it and there you go,you've got an imaginary friend.

It can look like whatever you want and its personalty is what ever you want it to be as well.

Finally, I think you should have an imaginary friend so you're never alone.

What I've learnt

One of the things that I've learnt at Myross Bush school room 8 is to always try to be the best you can be or you are not going to get any thing in life. So you always need to be the best you can so you can have a good job and  get paid well and have everything that you have always wanted. So be the best you can be and always be polite and smile.

This maths time we were making shapes.

This is a triangler prism it has 6 veticies and 9 edges and 5 faces.

How a candle works

First you will need all the causes to make a flame like matches the wick solid wax air and candle those are the causes that we used to  make a flame and then we looked at the affects that the flame made.  Heat , liquid wax , smoke , gas , sucking and burnt air .  That is how a candle works.

Whats happening in Room 8

In room 8 we have got a hero tree which is tree that we can get our names on if we have been doing good stuff like being aware of others or doing stuff without being told stuff like that. We are also doing science we have been going to different classes to learn about different science subjects like gases liquids heat and expansion those are some of the subjects that we have learnt about.In maths we are learning about area and perimeter for me it's pretty easy but it's still very fun.We are also doing animations and we need to have a message in it like for my groups one are message is persisting which is not giving up but before we make it we have to plan it out and make the story so we know what do and everything like that.We all have a learner profile (lp) goal mine is to become a problem solver so there are no problems to get in the way of my learning.There is also a new student in are class her name is ruby and she is a very awesome girl she also has a very good friend aleisha they are very good friends and I think that she's going to have a good time at myross bush room 8.On the 9th of August 2011 we have moffet cup which is a tournament played for the cup and myross bush is a very athletic school so I hope we win.And that is mostly what room 8 is doing right now.

Question of the week

My leaner profile goal is to become a problem solver and solve all the problems in the way of my learning so I can learn all week all day and I don't stop learning. the subject of choice I would like to learn about is greek mythology because it intrests me and I know a couple of other people that would like to learn about it to.

How to escape from a cougar

This is the simplest way to escape from a cougar it is good to read this if you are going hiking.

1. Don't run it will most likely have seen or smelt you already so stay still.

2. Try make yourself bigger by opening your coat it's less likely to attack something bigger then its self.

3. Show you are not defenceless by shouting and waving your hands around.

4. If you have children pick them up do anything to be bigger.

5. Back away slowly or wait for the animal to go away.

6. If it stays then start throwing rocks or stones or sticks or anything around make it think your stronger then it.

7. If it starts attacking attack back keep throwing rocks if it stays start smacking it with a stick and that should do it.

Southland cross country

Hello I'm going to tell you about the southland cross country. First we had to drive to holt park in otauta after that we had to find a spot to sit and put are bags we played around for awhile until we stopped to save energy for the race again we had to wait for ages until someone called every one to him so he could tell us where to go in the race we followed for a while but we just figured it out by our selves so we went back to grab a snack before we race the ten year old boys ran first so we started doing are streches and warm ups. We lined up at the start and of we go right at the begining there was a huge hill that took ages to climb after that we turned a big corner and then there was dirt wich was pretty slippery so that made it a bit hard next was the bush there was a hill in it but I past that easily then there was creeks and mud but they were easy then it was the last sprint and at the end I came 39th and I'm happy about it so it was a good days work.

The year 6 young leaders trip

Hello everybody I'm going to tell you about the year 6 young leaders trip. We had to get up at 6,Oclock to get on a bus to Dunedin for two long hours we sat on a bus until we got to Dunedin we listened to some very interesting people my favourite was alison mooney she told us about are personality's and what animal out of a book she had we were. We were mostly surprised when miss stewart was in a competition were some of the other teachers and miss stewart had a toffy pop on there head and they had to get it in there mouths she didn't win but we still cheered the best thing we did was have a sleep over at discovery world in the musem we played all the games there and now I want to have a room were every thing bright glows we also had a challenge where we had to find out a lot of stuff and my group won because we found everything first and got back to discovery world first we all had pizza for tea and cerial for breakfast then in the morning we went to have a look at the butter flys heaps nearly landed on me but they never did two landed on mr herring .We went to the swimming pool and we played a game were you try to keep the ball with a super bounce ball against the men that were taking care of us the kids won of course but after that we had to go on the bus again and that is my story of the year 6 young leaders trip.

My super hero named shiny angel

My super heros name is shiny angel and he flys over the streets and roads of southland.Listing to with his super hearing and helps people with problems far and wide .He flys with his angel wings so he can help people really fast and he can pull out a feather and there is a stratgey on it and it instintly grows back so he can use it again. He has the spear of happieness and he waves it and it sends happieness waves it always works against his arch rivel the dark devil but it has to be charged first seeya.
